Holistic advice maximises value

We advocate for a comprehensive approach to financial decision-making that aims to maximise value for our clients. We recognise that most financial decisions involve numerous interrelated factors, including tax implications, financial planning, cash flow management, retirement planning, and liability management, among others.

Without a holistic team guiding you, the responsibility falls on your shoulders to navigate this complex decision-making process, potentially leading to missed opportunities or overlooked risks. Our commitment is to provide you with a holistic service that ensures you capitalise on every opportunity to achieve your lifestyle and financial objectives.

Our team of experienced professionals, including accountants, financial planners, and mortgage brokers, collaborates closely to facilitate a dynamic exchange of ideas to achieve the best possible outcomes, as illustrated in these case studies.

The services we can offer you

There are four services that we can offer you over the course of our relationship depending on your needs:

1. Financial Advice: We distinguish ourselves from the majority of financial advisory firms in Australia through two key differentiators.

Firstly, our extensive expertise extends to property decisions, encompassing both home purchases and property investments. These decisions often involve substantial sums of money and carry significant long-term implications. Consequently, we believe that the financial advisory process should meticulously address property matters, just as it does with superannuation, share investments, and other financial aspects. This level of depth is often lacking in many other firms.

Secondly, as a holistic financial services provider, we prioritise the seamless integration of your financial and tax planning strategies. Taxation, being a substantial lifelong expense, deserves careful consideration. We ensure that your financial and tax plans align coherently to maximise wealth on an after-tax basis. Our advisory services cover a wide spectrum of assets, including superannuation funds, residential and commercial properties, shares, bonds, managed funds, and more. Our philosophies are discussed in Stuart’s best-selling book, Investopoly.

Our financial advisory services adhere to a holistic approach, encompassing all your financial needs, including tax management, mortgages, insurance, and more. We adopt this approach for two primary reasons. Firstly, it enables us to maximise the value we can create for our clients. Secondly, collaborating with external advisors can often be time-consuming, frustrating, and less effective. A holistic approach offers a more streamlined and enjoyable experience.

2. Tax and Business Advice: Our objective is to offer proactive tax advice as a central pillar of our services. Our primary focus revolves around helping you minimise your tax liabilities effectively. Additionally, we leverage our expertise to support self-employed individuals and business proprietors. We actively collaborate with them to stimulate business growth and elevate after-tax profitability. This is achieved through the implementation of robust financial reporting procedures that not only provide valuable business insights but also identify opportunities for enhancement.

3. Mortgage advice & brokering: The main objective of this service is to create a customised financing plan that helps you achieve your financial and lifestyle goals. In addition, we ensure your loans are structured appropriately to optimises cash flow, reduce tax liabilities, and minimises risks.

With our extensive network of over 30 lenders, we offer a diverse range of options tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. Furthermore, we harness the power of AI tools to search for superior deals on behalf of our existing clients. These tools enable us to automatically negotiate more favourable interest rates with their existing lenders.

For a comprehensive understanding of our advisory approach, you can find detailed insights in Stuart’s book, “Rules of the Lending Game.”

What fees do we charge for our services?

Financial advice

Our approach is exclusively focused on establishing long-term relationships with our clients, so we do not provide one-off or piecemeal advice.

Our financial advisory service usually attracts two fees; (1) an initial once-off fee to develop a comprehensive, long-term strategy and (2) a monthly retainer fee to cover ongoing implementation, advice and support.

Upon reviewing your completed questionnaire (accessible via the button below), if we identify sufficient scope to consider engaging our financial advisory services, we will send you additional information via email, including indicative fee ranges.

Please be aware that we will only agree to work with a prospective client if we are confident that we can deliver a lot more value than our fees entail. Therefore, completing the questionnaire does not guarantee our ability to offer this service to you. Your understanding of this is greatly appreciated.

Tax and business advice

Typically, all tax and business advisory services are provided on a fixed fee basis, which we will mutually agree with you before undertaking any work. To ensure that we provide you with a fee proposal, we will require access to your financial records, including your most recent tax returns and financial reports for a thorough review.

Mortgage and insurance advice

We offer mortgage and insurance services on a commission basis meaning we do not charge you a fee. Instead, we receive commissions from the providers with whom we engage which are always disclosed to you.

We firmly believe that the presence of commission does not risk compromising the quality of our advice for two key reasons:

  1. The price you pay (interest rates or insurance premiums) is the same had you arranged the mortgage or insurance policy directly with the provider, so there’s no cost to you. In fact, with mortgages, often we can negotiate better deals; and
  2. We offer whole-of-market advice, meaning our panel of over 30 lenders encompasses more than 98% of the mortgage market, and we maintain relationships with every major risk insurer in Australia. This ensures that you have access to a comprehensive array of options, leaving no significant choices unexplored.

It’s important to note that while we generally do not charge a fee for mortgage and insurance services, we may impose a fee for insurance advice/reviews, and under certain circumstances, we may also charge for credit advice.

Is there a fee for the first meeting?

The initial meeting is complimentary, and there will be no charge. During this meeting, we will take the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with your requirements, allowing us to determine if our firm is the right fit to assist you. However, subsequent meetings may incur a fee.

What is the next step?

We would appreciate it if you could provide us with additional information about your current circumstances and needs. To facilitate this process, we have prepared a set of nine questions. This data will be valuable in helping us assess (1) whether we are the most suitable firm to address your needs and (2) which team member is best suited for your initial consultation.

Please note that this form is facilitated through Formstack, and data is encrypted. For more details on privacy and security, you can refer to this page.

Once we receive your responses, we will outline the subsequent steps (usually within 1 business day), which may include scheduling a phone call or an in-person or online meeting.
